Begin your adventure with a morning pick-up from your Marrakech hotel or riad at 7:30 AM. Leaving the city behind, we’ll head into the stunning High Atlas Mountains, following the winding road through the Tizi N’tichka pass with stops along the way for refreshments and photos of mountain peaks and Berber villages.
Your first major stop is the UNESCO-listed Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous historical sites. Its mud-brick architecture and ancient walls tell the story of a once-thriving trading post. You may choose to join an optional guided tour for a fee of 3 euros per person to dive deeper into the kasbah’s fascinating history.
After lunch, we’ll pass through the film-famous Ouarzazate. Known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” this town is famous for its cinematic landscapes. Please note, for travel groups, this is a brief stop; if time allows, you can choose to visit the Atlas Film Studios for a small entry fee of 5 euros, though this is not included in the standard itinerary.
From here, we’ll follow the scenic route through the Draa Valley, a lush, green stretch contrasting with the surrounding desert. As evening approaches, enjoy a sunset camel ride into the Zagora desert, embracing the calm beauty as the sky fades to orange and purple.
Arrive at your desert camp for an unforgettable evening. Settle into cozy shared Berber tents, enjoy a traditional meal, and relax under a sky full of stars. The camp offers basic facilities, with shared showers and tents, and you can upgrade to a luxury camp if desired.
Your journey begins in a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus, ideal for group travel, as we head toward the Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is the historic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a walled village with six kasbahs that captures the essence of ancient Morocco.
Next, we visit Ouarzazate, known for hosting Hollywood blockbusters like The Living Daylights, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia. If time allows, you may also choose to explore the Atlas Film Studios for an additional 8 euros (optional).
In the afternoon, we’ll pass through the scenic Draa Valley, with its lush oasis and breathtaking landscapes perfect for photos. As the day ends, enjoy a camel ride to our desert camp in Zagora.
