What To Expect

Marrakech – Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou – Ouarzazate – Dades

  • Ait Ben Haddou:
    Begin your journey with a stop at the Berber village of Ait Berka (1,460 meters), where you can enjoy panoramic views, then continue to Ait Ben Amer (1,550 meters). Crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters, you’ll reach Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous historical monuments. Spend three hours here, including a 1.5-hour optional guided tour of the kasbah (3 euros per person, not included) and 1 hour for lunch.

    • Duration: 3 hours

    Ouarzazate:
    After Ait Ben Haddou, travel to Ouarzazate, also known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Here, visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Cinema Museum (entry tickets not included). For travel groups, this is a brief stop in the city, as the Atlas Studios are not part of the tour itinerary.

    • Duration: 20 minutes

    El Kelaa M’Gouna:
    Head toward Kelaa M’Gouna, the “flower capital of Morocco,” famous for its roses. En route to Dades Gorges, stop for photos at the Dades Valley, the Kasbah Ait Youl, and the iconic Monkey Fingers Rock Formation.

    • Duration: 15 minutes

Day 2: Dades – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Merzouga

  • Tinghir:
    After breakfast, head to Tinghir for a guided tour of the Tinghir Valleys, lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Explore the stunning Todra Gorges, where you’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch in the nearby village.
    Duration: 2 hours
  • Merzouga Desert:
    After lunch, continue through Tin-N-Jdad, Rissani, and Erfoud until you reach Merzouga. Upon arrival, prepare for a memorable night in nomadic desert tents in the Merzouga Desert. The evening will be filled with traditional music and folk dances under the starlit desert sky.
    Camel Ride: Embark on a 1-hour camel ride to watch the breathtaking desert sunset.
    Accommodation: Overnight stay in a traditional desert camp.
    Meals: Dinner and Breakfast included.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Merzouga Desert:
In the morning, enjoy breakfast at the camp before starting your journey back to Marrakech, passing through Erfoud, Rissani, and Ouarzazate.
Meals: Not included.
Accommodation: Not included.
Guide: Not included.

Don’t forget essentials like sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a reusable water bottle, a camera, and comfortable shoes. For the overnight stay, toiletries and personal items are also important.

  • The tour price includes transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, a camel ride in the desert, accommodation in a hotel (half board) and a Berber desert camp (dinner and breakfast), and the services of an experienced guide. Entry fees to optional attractions like film studios and lunch are not included.
